The main advantages of PHE

The  plate heat exchanger  (PHE) has been highly developed since the new era. It has been widely applied to various industries due to its high efficiency, energy saving and environmental friendly. The main advantages of PHEs are listed: 1: High efficiency and low heat waste The heat exchanging rate could reach its peak of 6000W/m 2 K under the best condition and 3000-4000W/m 2 K under general conditions, which is 3 to 5 times than shell and tube heat exchangers. There are no shunts in PHE so that all the liquid flows in turbulence with plate waves and exchanges the heat adequately. The heat exchanging area is only 1/3 to 1/4 of that in shell and tube heat exchangers during the same heat exchanging process. 2: Less area occupied and lighter weight PHE  has no requirements to extra space except its own. The thickness of plate for PHE is only 0.6 to 0.8mm. The occupied area and weight is 80% less than shell and tube heat exchangers. 3: Low fouling ratio The advanced des

What is plate heat exchanger?

http://www.hfm-phe.com/ A plate heat exchanger is a type of heat exchanger that uses metal plates to transfer heat between two fluids. It has a major advantage over a conventional heat exchanger in that the fluids are exposed to a much larger surface area because the fluids spread out over the plates. I t facilitates the transfer of heat, and greatly increases the speed of the temperature change. Plate heat exchangers are now common and very small brazed versions are used in the hot-water sections of millions of combination boilers. The high heat transfer efficiency for such a small physical size has increased the domestic hot water (DHW) flowrate of combination boilers. The small plate heat exchanger has made a great impact in domestic heating and hot-water. Larger commercial versions use gaskets between the plates, whereas smaller versions tend to be brazed. The concept behind a heat exchanger is the use of pipes or other containment vessels to heat or cool one fluid by transfer
